Verdion has announced the appointment of Viktor Baláž as Development Manager in Copenhagen, increasing the business’s technical expertise to support its Nordics portfolio growth.
Viktor joins from Logistic Contractor, part of the Wastbygg Group, where he specialised in construction management, including a new distribution centre for DHL in Kastrup. Before that he worked with Goldbeck International where he was responsible for a new facility for DSV in Jӧnkӧping, Sweden, as well as delivering other logistics assets across northern Europe.
At Verdion he will be responsible for project and construction management of new assets in Denmark, covering all aspects planning, budget, procurement and supervision of the construction process until completion. He will work closely with Verdion’s Technical Director in Denmark, Jacob Rasmussen, who will now focus on new investment and development opportunities in the Nordics.
Peter Michael Tetzlaff, Head of Investment – Nordics, at Verdion, said: “New, efficient, sustainable assets are at the heart of our portfolio growth and with Viktor joining the team we have greater capacity to identify and execute more opportunities across the wider region. His experience in the market, his technical capability and the value he places on teamwork aligns very closely with Verdion’s ethos and we are pleased to welcome him to the business.”
Verdion is currently capital raising for a second fund targeting €400 million of equity. Verdion European Logistics Fund 1 (VELF 1), which invests in value-add urban logistics and properties in well-established locations in Northern Europe, closed with a total fund volume of €310 million and its strategy is now being successfully executed.
In Denmark, it has now completed and leased a 26,000 sq m facility in Allerød, north of Copenhagen, and continues to move forward with the 150,000-sq m E20 Park Copenhagen logistics hub, close to the port of Køge in partnership with Aviva Investors. In Sweden it will shortly complete the final phase of E4 Park Rosersberg, close to Stockholm’s Arlanda Airport, with construction of new distribution space in the key markets of Jonkoping and Gothenburg also underway.
