Michael Hughes

Chief Executive Officer

Michael is responsible for the strategic direction of Verdion, chairing its Board and Investment Committee and overseeing its leadership teams. The company’s founder and principal owner, he has over 25 years’ investment experience in logistics and industrial real estate and is an acknowledged expert in this sector. Prior to founding Verdion, Michael was joint Managing Director of Helios Properties Plc, a business he co-owned having led a management buyout of the property arm of Exel Logistics. He is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

Peter Peeters

Chief Technical Officer

Peter is one of the logistics and industrial real estate sector’s foremost technical specialists and a leading advocate for technical innovation in design and construction. He oversees Verdion’s team of technical and construction experts and advises the Board on business strategy across all European markets. Peter joined Verdion in 2011, following senior roles at Eurinpro/Goodman, bringing more than 30 years of international experience to this role and overseeing over 7 million sqm of logistics development throughout the UK and Europe.

Paul Clarke

Chief Financial Officer

Paul leads Verdion’s finance team and sits on our Investment Committee. He has extensive experience in the European real estate market. Paul joined Verdion in 2013 from a UK-based private property group. After gaining a first-class honours degree in Mathematics he joined PwC where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant before moving to KPMG Corporate Finance. In 2000 he joined listed retailer Brown and Jackson plc as Group Accountant, later becoming Finance Director of the group’s property division and retail operation in a major European market. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).

André Banschus

Executive Director

André manages our business operations in Germany and heads up a number of large-scale park developments and specialist industrial facilities across the country. With over 20 years of experience in the European logistics sector, he has overseen the development of more than 3 million sq m of logistics space across the continent. André joined Verdion in 2012 following senior positions with Prologis, Eurinpro/Goodman, Goldbeck and Parkridge. An engineer by training, with in-depth technical and commercial expertise, he is highly regarded throughout the industry and has considerable experience in Northern and CEE logistics real estate markets.

John Clements

Executive Director

John is responsible for sourcing and structuring new development and investment opportunities, working closely with our investor partners to execute Verdion’s Europe-wide development programme. He also leads the development and leasing of our flagship £800 million multimodal logistics hub iPort in Doncaster, UK. Before joining Verdion in 2010, John was a Senior Associate with King Sturge focused on European development and investment. He is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

Simon Walter

Executive Director – Investment Management

Simon leads the growth of Verdion’s European investment management business with a focus on Verdion’s discretionary fund mandates. Simon sits on Verdion’s Investment Committee and heads up Verdion’s European asset management team. He joined Verdion in 2016, before which he was a director at Aviva Investors responsible for asset management across several large UK and European portfolios. Simon previously held roles at Colliers International and Cluttons and is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

Jonathan Harris

Executive Director - Capital Markets

Jonathan is responsible for Verdion’s capital market activities for its investment management business, working closely with Michael Hughes on strategic initiatives and capital raising. He is an experienced investor, corporate advisor and senior real estate executive with previous roles at Schroders Capital as Head of Continental European Real Estate Investment, and at the Macquarie Group where he established and led European Real Estate Investment Banking. Jonathan has been involved with logistics and industrial real estate for over 20 years, including as an adviser to the Goodman Group in Europe, UK and Australia, and as co-founder of UK logistics developer/manager PLP.

Adrian de Morgan

Non-Executive Director

Adrian de Morgan is a non-executive director of Verdion and has over forty years’ experience in property investment, development and funding on behalf of a broad range of UK and international institutional investors. As Chief Executive of de Morgan & Co. Limited, Adrian has a proven track record of capital raising with over €2.4 billion invested in the Nordic property market on behalf of funds such as Standard Life, Aviva Investors, M&G Real Estate and Schroders. Adrian is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

Sebastian Achten

Senior Leasing & Development Manager

Sebastian is actively involved in Verdion’s development pipeline across Germany and supports leasing negotiations across the business. He was previously a senior real estate consultant with Bienen&Partner Immobilien GmbH and has more than eight years’ experience in real estate transactions, predominantly in logistics and manufacturing.

Viktor Baláž

Technical Development Manager – Denmark

Viktor is responsible for project and construction management of new assets in Denmark, covering all aspects planning, budget, procurement and supervision of the construction process until completion. He was previously with Logistic Contractor, part of the Wästbygg Group, where he specialised in construction management, including a new distribution centre for DHL in Kastrup and before that with Goldbeck International where he was responsible for delivering logistics assets across northern Europe.

Daniel Carstens

Commercial Manager

Daniel handles leasing activities for our Danish business, including new warehouse developments coming forward at E20 Park Copenhagen, near Solrød, and Verdion iPark Copenhagen close to Allerød. He is also responsible for asset management across Denmark and Sweden, including properties being held in Verdion’s VELF1 fund. Daniel joined Verdion from M7 Real Estate, where he was an Asset Manager focused primarily on the logistics sector.

Manisha Chumber

Assistant Financial Accountant

Manisha is the Finance Assistant in our London-based team, joining Verdion in 2019 to support the financial operations of the business as it continues to grow. Manisha has been working in finance for several years, gaining four years' experience in real estate during this time.

Simon Davies

Technical Development Manager

Simon provides technical and development support across a number of projects in Sweden, including in Rosersberg and Jönköping – more than 33,000 sq m of speculative Grade A space. Based in Stockholm since 2013, he previously headed up Technical & Environmental Due Diligence services for Aurora (previously Gardiner & Theobald) and before that helped establish the Dubai arm of architectural and engineering consultancy SSH. He is also experienced in managing large technical teams on highly-complex development projects for sovereign wealth funds and institutional investors, and has extensive experience in the adaptation and fit-out of buildings for international corporate occupiers including Google and Deloitte in Sweden.

Mark Garrity

Development Director UK

Mark is responsible for our UK development pipeline, sourcing new opportunities close to major urban populations across the country and working closely with our in-house technical team to deliver new industrial and logistics space. Before joining Verdion in 2023, Mark spent four years at Chancerygate specialising in the Midlands market. His experience also includes client-side and agency roles, and acquisitions and disposals activity across retail and trade counter markets. He is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

Max Goodwin

Financial Accountant

Part of the finance team based at our London headquarters, Max joined the business in June 2022 from accountancy and business advisory firm BDO, where he was a senior auditor working across a broad range of sectors including real estate and private equity, from LSE-listed businesses to start ups. Max is a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Marc Haverkamp

Technical Director – 
Strategic Land & Investment

Marc focusses on our investment portfolio and development initiatives, adding value to existing assets and new opportunities through his technical expertise in design, construction and delivery. Since joining us in 2013, Marc has managed complex development projects that include a production site for Siemens in Chemnitz, the new European logistics hub for DeLaval in Gallin, two hazardous goods warehouses for Imperial and a 110,000 sq m distribution centre for Amazon near Dortmund. Before joining Verdion Marc was a technical real estate project manager at the REWE Group.

Tobias Heinz

Senior Development Manager

Tobias is responsible for the management of our development projects in Germany. His scope of activities runs from the planning process through project management during the construction phase to property management when projects become operational. Before joining Verdion, Tobias worked in structural engineering for Schüßler-Plan in Düsseldorf.

Mani Hemmaty

Technical Director – Sweden

Mani is responsible for the construction of Verdion’s projects in Sweden, including new speculative development in Rosersberg north of Stockholm. Previously Head of Operations for Sweden, then Norway, Denmark and Finland, with Logistics Contractor, he has extensive experience of delivering major projects for developers, third party logistics providers and occupiers including DSV, DHL, Tata, Lidl and ICA. He is based at Verdion’s Gothenburg office.

George Johnstone

Investment Manager

George works closely with Verdion’s investment and asset management teams across Europe, covering all aspects of portfolio and investment management, and ensuring portfolio-wide best practices and processes. He joined Verdion in 2022 from Dominvs Group, the privately owned multisector real estate company, where he specialised in supporting deal origination and execution on commercial real estate and development opportunities. Before that he held roles with Escala Partners and Beulah Capital in Australia.

Oliver Kemper

Investment Director

Oliver focusses on identifying, sourcing, analysing, negotiating and executing investment opportunities, transactions, acquisitions, and disposals for Verdion European Logistics Fund 1 (VELF 1). He joined Verdion from KanAm Grund in Frankfurt where he was an Investment Manager, and before that he spent time at Logicor where his focus was value-add logistics investments across Germany. Johan Nihlmark

Head of Business Development – Nordics

Johan leads on our leasing activities in the region, including built to suit and speculative development projects as well as opportunities for the wider Verdion portfolio. Drawing on a strong network across the Nordics, he is responsible for sourcing and delivering new opportunities in the region, primarily in Sweden and Denmark. Before joining Verdion he spent eight years with Prologis in Gothenburg.

Office Manager

Janine is responsible for the smooth running of our Düsseldorf office, assists with important development projects and supports our commercial and technical specialists in their work. Jacob Rasmussen

Technical Director – Denmark

Jacob is responsible for delivering all Verdion’s projects in Denmark, including E20 Park Copenhagen and iPark Copenhagen. Previously a Director with DS Flexhal A/S and Business Development Manager with Rizzani de Eccher S.p.A, he has worked across Denmark and Sweden with responsibility for delivering major turnkey production facilities with a focus on energy efficiency and security. As well as holding B.Sc. in Civil Engineering, Jacob has Postgraduate Diploma from Copenhagen Business School and an Executive MBA from Technical University of Denmark-Business (DTU-B). He is based at Verdion’s office in Copenhagen.

Marco Rauch

Technical Director – Germany

Marco has worked as a construction and project manager for more than 15 years. Before joining Verdion he worked for GSE Deutschland GmbH, where he was responsible for developing commercial properties with a total GLA of around 70,000 sq m. Before that, he was responsible for projects in Frankfurt and the Netherlands for Goldbeck. Between 2004 and 2014, Marco developed offices, hospitals and schools at Peter Gross Bau GmbH in the Rhine-Main region with a total investment volume of around €150 million.

Fredrik Salman

Investment Manager

Fredrik focusses on the sourcing and acquisition of new investment and development opportunities across the Nordics, as well as undertaking day-to-day portfolio and investment activity working closely with Verdion’s investment, asset management and technical teams. He joined the business from Round Hill Capital, where he was an investment manager working on deal origination and management of commercial real estate. Prior to this, he spent three years at Brunswick Real Estate in Stockholm.

Asset Manager

Annika supports the integration of new properties into the portfolio and handles lease renewal and regear negotiations. She also manages capex projects, working closely with the development team. Based at our Frankfurt offices, she joined Verdion from Deutsche Real Estate AG where she worked in leasing and warranty management. Valerie Setz

Asset Manager

Valerie manages Verdion’s assets across Germany, the Nordics, Benelux and the Czech Republic, from incorporating new assets into the firm’s portfolio to day-to-day business planning, management and reporting. As part of this she undertakes rent reviews, lease renewals and regears and oversees larger capital projects. She joined the firm from VGP where she was a property manager, and prior to that worked for Postcon Service GmbH.

Florian Stöbe

Head of Investment – Germany

Florian heads up our Frankfurt office team and leads Verdion’s investment activity in Germany. A member of our Investment Committee, he is responsible for sourcing and executing Verdion’s value-add investment strategy and our urban logistics development programme. He is regularly called on to speak to the industry about our focus on brownfield regeneration. Joining Verdion in 2020 from DEKA, where he was Senior Investment Manager, Florian has over 17 years’ high-level experience in the German logistics real estate market with previous senior roles at Catella and CBRE.

Alptug Taskin

Senior Technical Project Manager

Alptug is responsible for all technical areas of the company’s VELF1 fund in Germany, including supporting the team in due diligence for new acquisitions and capex projects for existing buildings, as well as new VELF developments which he will lead through to completion. Based at the firm’s Frankfurt office, he has 28 years of professional experience, with previous roles including architect and technical manager for institutional investors such as Conren Land and Logicor, and a focus on improving the sustainability of projects throughout his career.

Jamie Young

Asset Manager

Based in London, Jamie is part of the team working on VELF1, our €310 million discretionary fund focussed on assets with potential for value add across Germany, the Nordics and other Northern European locations.
