Verdion has appointed Moritz Heißenberg as Country Manager for Germany. He will join the business on 1 December 2024, operating from Verdion’s Düsseldorf and Frankfurt offices, and taking a seat on the company’s Executive Board.
The move follows five years at Logicor, where he was most recently Country Manager for Germany overseeing asset management, development, transactions and marketing.
At Verdion he will lead the business’s activity in Germany, working with its investment, development and asset management specialists to drive forward new opportunities for corporate and portfolio growth.
André Banschus, Executive Director of Verdion, said: “Despite challenging times for logistics in the last two years, we see further, untapped potential across a range of German markets. With capital to deploy, this is the right time to power up.
“Moritz shares this drive for growth and focus on creating value in a responsive, responsible and sustainable way. He is well-established in the sector, with strong connections and an impressive track record. We look forward to welcoming him fully in early December, when he will be a great addition to our team and to our Executive Board.”
Verdion remains focussed on urban logistics, value-add, strategic parks and complex build to suit, transforming predominantly brownfield sites through technical innovation and deep sector expertise.
It has recently completed a €100 million industrial and logistics park in the Berlin submarket of Ludwigsfelde, the largest asset in its Verdion European Logistics (VELF) 1 fund. Capital raising for VELF 2 continues, with completion of its first asset – in Denmark – earlier this year. Its strategic parks include iPort in the UK and E20 Park Copenhagen, while plans for a major industrial and logistics park in Germany’s Rhine-Ruhr area including significant built to suit potential are progressing.
Moritz Heißenberg, incoming Country Manager – Germany at Verdion, said: “Joining Verdion, with its great track record, investment approach and access to significant new capital, is a really exciting opportunity. From December, I’m looking forward to working with the team and planning for growth in the years ahead.”
Michael Hughes, CEO of Verdion, said: “This is an important strategic hire for the business. Through the appointment of Moritz as Country Manager and Executive Board member, we are further strengthening the Verdion executive team. His talent and experience will set us on a strong course to exploit new opportunities in Germany, which lies at the heart of our long-term investment and development plans.”
