Verdion has appointed Dominik Schäffer as Group Head of Asset Management to support its ongoing portfolio growth.
Schäffer will drive Verdion’s group-wide asset management strategy and lead its team of asset managers across Germany, the Nordics and UK from the firm’s Düsseldorf offices. Reporting to Executive Director – Investment Management, Simon Walter, and the Verdion Executive Board, he will also work closely with the investment, development and technical specialists as part of the business’s vertically integrated approach.
Previously Head of Asset Management Germany for P3, Schäffer has significant asset management and leasing experience, strong relationships with major corporates in the sector, and specific knowledge of urban logistics requirements and operations.
Since its founding in 2010, Verdion has created a €2.4 billion European logistics portfolio comprising both new developments and existing assets for value-add investment strategies across Germany, the UK, the Nordics and Benelux. It is currently capital raising for its latest European logistics fund targeting a total of €400 million of equity, having already secured closings and acquired its first asset.
Michael Hughes, CEO of Verdion, said: “Effective asset management underpins everything we do. Verdion has a proactive team on the ground, strong working relationships with occupiers and a track record of adding value through asset-level initiatives.
“With new acquisitions and the implementation of business plans across the existing portfolio, asset management activity is set to increase. Dominik will implement our strategy at a group level, providing additional insight, expertise and governance as it continues to grow.”
